Doug Rockwell has been writing songs since the age of 8 years old. He has toured the country, had his music featured on radio, Sony Playstation’s “ATV Offroad Fury 4″, and in music stores across the globe. As an educated audio engineer, he also produces, records, mixes and masters all of his own songs as well as countless amounts of bands around the tri-state area. Doug currently writes with Grammy Winner Bill Grainer (Jennifer Hudson, Linda Eder), writing for up and coming artists in the US and the UK. He has lent his ear, voice & talent for songs pitched to artists such as Adam Lambert. He recently won the “Suggested Artist” award for Song Of The Year over at songoftheyear.com, where only the top songwriters receive a Suggested Artist placement in the songwriting competition. Doug has also had his music placed in media such as Chiller TV’s 2011 Promo on Directv, NBC’s “The Voice,” & The CW’s “Remodeled.”
Over the years, Doug has worked with Rob Freeman (Hidden In Plainview (Drive-Thru Records), Jason DeZuzio (Interference (Eyeball Records), and For The Foxes (Hopeless Records). He has produced and co-written with bands such as Driver Side Impact (Victory Records), Speak Easy (ex Bigwig, Crash Romeo, Day At The Fair, Driver Side Impact), Someday Never (All Records), and countless amounts of bands around the US. Doug also won the award for “Best Young Band” at the Asbury Park Music Awards, while playing with his band Someday Never.
All in all, The Doug Rockwell Band brings an explosive new flavor to an over-saturated scene by breathing life into a tired genre. His contagious hooks cannot be made dormant by any anti-biotic, and will leave you tapping your toes and singing along after one listen.
